FM CRITICIZES ISRAEL

The Turkish Foreign Ministry says that Israel's settlement activities insistently maintained without taking any heed of the reactions of world public opinion blocks the revival of the peace process.

While the Mideast peace process is at a deadlock, Israel does nothing to put on the breaks on its activities of building new settlements. The Israeli governmnet has last put out a tender for the building of additional housing units in the Har Homa and Pisgat Zeev neighbourhoods of East Jerusalem. More over, it has given approval for the construction of new housing units in east Talpiot. To top them off, the Israeli Interior Ministry has given the first nod for the plan to move the National Defense College to an field in the Olive Mountain area of East Jerusalem.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry says that Israel shoulod fulfill its responsibilities for lasting peace in the Middle East and make an end of all its activities damaging the medium of peace.
