Ashton said that, during her telephone conversation with Jalili, she mentioned about a new round of talks on Iran's nuclear progamme to take place between "P5+1" world powers, comprising the UN Security Council permanent members plus Germany and Iran.
Ms.Ashton added that Jalili has agreed with her offer to restart the talks.
However, the EU foreign policy chief declined to announce the exact venue and date of the new round of the talks.
Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu received Jalili's assistant Ali Bagheri on July 25 in Ankara and following the meeting, Davutoğlu and Bagheri stated that they had reached a common understanding in holding next phases of the Iranian nuclear talks with the P5+1 countries in Istanbul.
