Angry public workers staged huge protests in the Spanish capital Madrid…
The Mario Rajoy government, which shows great effort to cope with the economic rises, has announced a new bitter pill restricting the public spending, which immediately triggered the protest of public workers in the country.
Spanish white-collar workers protested against the wage cuts and tax increases by blowing whistles.
With placards in their hands writing, “No to austerity cuts”, thousands of demonstrators shouted that new austerity measures were “unjust” and blamed the government for favoring the rich, demanding its resignation.
When the Spanish riot police intervened into the protests, a clash was sparked between them and protestors, leaving dozens wounded.
Police also detained many demonstrators.
Labor Unions in Spain are preparing for a huge demonstration on July 19 to protest the new austerity cuts of the government.
